The secret to beautiful, stress-free skin is simple: its an inside job ~ Adina Grigore

I covered Adina in my post about her all-natural skincare line S.W. Basics. She’s suffered from skin issues since a child and decided to start her own skincare company. One thing S.W. Basics is known for is their simplicity. Most of their products have as few ingredients as possible. In her book, Skin Cleanse you find out that Adina is hilarious! This book highlights getting to the root of your skin problems from the inside out. She talks about what worked for her and how its lasted.

Book: Be Your Own Health Detective: How to Find a Permanent and Drug-Free Cure for Your Chronic Pain
Author: Reid Jenner
$12.99 (amazon.com)
Category: Health, Fitness & Dieting > Alternative Medicine > Healing

9.73 minutesThat’s how long the typical physician spends examining you before passing judgement with a prognosis and sending you on your way with a treatment program. Which is almost always a prescription to treat the presenting symptoms- not the underlying cause. And because very little time or effort was taken to effectively diagnose the underlying source of the problem, very often the recommended treatment doesn’t actually work to relive the  symptoms. Consequently the patient continues to suffer in silence, confused and frustrated by the doctor’s apparent inability to solve the problem ~ Reid Jenner

Reid Jenner is someone I follow on twitter. I absolutely love his tweets about health and wellness. He is an acclaimed naturopathic diagnosis specialist, with a track record of solving hundreds of health problems for patients. His book is about understanding and self-empowerment. Since I suffer from chronic pain, it really peeked my interest. He starts the book off by diving into a clip from SICKO by Michael Moore, explaining how the corruption of the heath care system came to be. Then he moves on to what you as a patient should do and how to make sense of your chronic pain. This book is brilliant and a MUST READ if you suffer from chronic pain. Reid Jenner enlightens readers to take matters into their own hands. With 4.5 out of 5 stars, you can’t go wrong with this book!

Book: Getting There: A Book of Mentors
Author: Gillian Zoe Segal
$14.75 (amazon)
Category: Business & Money > Job Hunting & Careers

Gillian Zoe Segal who was born in Montreal and raised in Manhattan is the amazing author of Getting There. First off, Gillian Segal is awesome and responds to messages via instagram. I had to tell her how much I appreciated this book, its so inspiring, positive and worded perfectly. I talked about this book a few weeks ago in my insomniac confessions. I’m reading it now and I absolutely LOVE IT. There is nothing more motivational and inspiration then learning from successful people. Hearing how Billionaire Michael Bloomberg was fired or how Sarah Blakely the Spanx founder started the company with $5,000 in her savings account. It the PERFECT book to read as the year ends and we transcend into 2016. I’ve talked about this book before so I won’t write too much but I will post the video. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
